THE LOVELY BONES,,
Susie has a common life in general. She goes to school and she has plenty of dreams to come true. From the first moment she seems a happy girl and this happiness always spread everyone around her. Everything is fine but the worst is coming.
Susie has a middle-aged neighbour called George. He’s apparently kind and inoffensive but this is only his external image. He’s actually a dangerous psychopathic and his obsession are the young girls. So, when he feels attraction to a girl like this he kills her and he hides her body. Then, he escapes to another city. He has done it all his life but police haven’t caught him yet. Susie is his neighbour but he never had paid especial attention to her until that day. That day, Susie was riding her bike and taking photos of her neigbour’s George roses. She was there with her parents but no one suspected about George’s behaviour. It was when he got obsessed with Susie. He was every day thinking of her and he finally decided to set her a trap to be able to kill her without arousing suspicions. He spent some weeks preparing his perfect plan. When he had everything done he set his plan in motion. He knew that Susie was really innocent and imaginative so he built a kind of cabin below ground, the perfect place to be completely alone. He also knew that Susie would be there because she always go this way to come back school.
One day he’s waiting for her right there. Susie, at first, doesn’t suspect anything. He tell her he’s bulding a secret cabin for their neibourhood’s children and he looks intrested in let her visit it. Susie thinks this is a wonderful idea but when she gets into it she feels a little scared. She perfectly knows that something isn’t right so she tries to leave. Unfortunately it’s impossible because fear doesn’t let her move. She says she should better come back home and George gets really nervous about it. Susie tries to scape for the last time but George catches her agressively and he kills her. Following this, he hides her body in a strongbox and he leaves it on his house basement. Susie’s parents get desesperate when she doesn’t come home because she’s a very responsible girl. Time goes by but they don’t know who killed their daughter yet. Susie’s family is living the worst days because they don’t have any prove about Susie’s disappearance. Even so Susie’s father Jack begin having suspections about his neighbour because he’s behaving extrangely since Susie has gone. These suspects are rounding his thoughts all day and it causes a matrimonial crises. However, he doesn’t give up and he carries on his investigation.
For his part George realize he can be denounced so he sat a tramp for Jack as well. The only one who has always believed Jack is his other daughter Lindsey. She has grown up and now she’s able to help his father. Then, the neighbour get obsessed with her as well and he’s always following her every where. This is the last reason she needs to realize he has killed her sister. Linsdey doesn’t know exactly how to getting proves but one day she decides to enter at George’s home when he has gone out. There she find articles talking about him and his muderers but unfortunately he comes back in that moment. He discovers her and he tries to kill her in vain because she escapes from him. When he knows he’s going to be arrested he runs away. In another city he tries to kill a girl but he accidentally falls down in a precipice and he dies.
During the film dead Susie is talking about her feelings and thoughts from the Limbo all the time. She shows what happen when we die and it’s really different than the idea of a paradise. Death, as life, is stages. You have to accept that you’re dead to be fine and feel good in dead people’s world but this is not as simple as we believe. Finally, Susie’s story has a happy ending. She accepts her death so she can feel free. Her parents make up they live happily knowing her daughter’s murder has what he deserves.
In my opinon this is a five star film. I don’t have words to describe it. To me, it’s absolutely a wonderful movie. The actors are brilliant and the way to talk about death is really new and touching. I can assure this is one of the best films I’ve ever seen and I recommend it to everyone. Furthermore, it’s really interesting because is a thriller so you never know exactly what is going to happen and when you know it you get scared because you didn’t expect it in that moment. Films like this make us realize that we have not trust anyone because even the most unexpected person can turn out being as Susie’s neighbour. We cannot believe in the appearances because they are usually deceptive. Death’s topic is very outstanding as well. They look at it in a different way and I love it. In fact, Susie’s death is the driving force of the whole story. In conclusion, I enjoyed very much this film and I hope you can enjoy it as well.
Finally, I’ll write my favourite quote of “The Lovely Bones”: “I was in the blue horizon between heaven and earth. The days were unchanging and every night I dream the same dream. The smell of damp earth. The scream no one heard. The sound of my heart beating like a hammer against cloth and I would hear them calling, the voices of the dead. I wanted to follow them to find a way out but I would always come back to the same door. And I was afraid. I knew if I went in there I would never come out”.

A BRONX TALE,,
There are three main characters in the story: Calogero, Lorenzo (Calogero’s father) and Sonny.
Calogero, Lorenzo and Rosina are an Italian family who live in the Bronx since a long time ago.
Sonny is the head of a famous mafia which is well-known on the Bronx. He and his gang have the absolute control of this neighbourhood and Sonny is the most fearful gangster there. Everyone knows that Sonny is really vengeful and that he has no qualms.
Sonny has a discreet pub where he meets their boys and where there are alcohol, cigarettes and all kinds of bets and games.
Lorenzo is just a family man. His only aim is will be able some day to earn enough money to look after his family. They’re very poor and he doesn’t earn much money because he is a bus driver. Lorenzo begins to worry about his son when he becomes friend of Sonny and during the story he’s trying all the time to convince his son to stop keeping bad company.
Calogero is an 8-9 year-old child who always says how much he hates his name to his father. He has never understood how his parents could choose a name so inappropriate. He lives in the same street than Sonny. Calogero seems older than he really is because he has seen lots of atrocities since he was a little child and he has spent most of his days in Bronx streets with his friends as well. They are used to steal food, they argue with other children and also they laugh at everybody.
However, Calogero is a very special child and that’s the reason why his parents love him so much. They are usually trying to separate him from street’s life but there’s no way to get it. The reason of Calogero’s affection to the Bronx is Sonny. This gangster is his biggest idol and Calogero always tries to follow his steps.
Time goes by…and Calogero grows up! He’s a handsome teenager now. He has changed a lot, but unfortunately his friends have grown up as well. His friends’ thoughts are completely opposite than his thoughts. They are all terribly changed and Calogero doesn’t feel good with them. They are only worried about black people and they are all day thinking how to bother or hurt them.
Unluckily, “C” is too influenced by Sonny and nothing can take him from his side. One day, unexpectedly, Calogero knows a pretty young girl and he falls in love at first sight. There’s only a little problem: she’s black and it was frowned upon in his neighbourhood.
Everything goes wrong in the end… and things have such a dramatic ending. The story has a very shocking ending…but who didn’t still know that fairytales don’t ever happen in the Bronx?
From my point of view “A BRONX TALE” is a gorgeous film. Probably I liked it so much because all the scenes were unexpectedly, especially the final scene. It was really shocking to me because I though that it would have the typical happy ending. The characters are very well played and each one is perfectly characterized and lifelike. It’s a very successful movie. It reminds me of “Il Padrino”‘s movie which I liked very much as well. With these kinds of films it seems that you are able to feel what their characters are feeling. In a scaring scene you can feel the fear and even when someone shoots a gun, you are so concentrated on the film that you feel like you were inside the scene. I’m afraid that those are magnificent works and nowadays, it’s almost impossible to watch some film like these.
MY MARKING: **** (a masterpiece)
To conclude, I’d like to talk about film’s moral. “A BRONX TALE” hasn’t only a moral: it has two.
Firstly, the main moral is: “You must trust nobody”. Sonny repeats it throughout all the film, and maybe he was right. At least, if you live on the Bronx, it would be some good advice.
And secondly, there’s a final moral. This moral talks about the consequences of our acts. I believe that everything we did in the past will always have a great repercussion in our future. Maybe good or maybe bad, but our acts will always draw our way…Well, it’s like the karma. If you are a kind person and you help the others, there are fewer possibilities to have complications in your future. Otherwise, if you are a cold-hearted person and you don’t care about anything…be careful! Because one day everything you did will go back to you, and then, it’ll be too late to change it.
I think that everyone should know that “what goes around…comes always back around”
And, once more: if you sometimes try to stop thinking selfishly in yourself and give your help to the people who really need it, always remember that your acts won’t be on vain.

IL PADRINO
Some people say that “IL PADRINO” was the first film, the finest work about a well-known topic as MAFIA is. Then, the other movies were influenced by the best film.
The length of Il Padrino’s movie is more or less three hours. When someone tells us that a film lasts so long we usually think that it’ll be boring or hard to pay attention all the time…but that’s not the fact!
IL PADRINO is setting on the 70’s. Maybe there are some scenes on the film that seem quite false, but thinking about the year of its creation…is absolutely gorgeous!!
Actually, IL PADRINO won all the prizes that was opting on the Oscars.
On the 70’s, in the heart of New York’s city, there was a rich family. The Corleone's family. They had this family name because years ago, their family was born in Corleone, a little village situated in Sicilia, on the South of Italy.
The men of that family were all in mafia’s world. They were experts on it, for sure. They bribed to police and to the government, the most important people has been bought by them. They cheated on poker games and all related to that world, to get great sum of money. They swindled, they fooled everyone, they manipulated a lot of business and if some enemy tried to hurt them or damage their job…they killed him and they never were able to feel guilty. All those things were only job for them, but there was only a sacred thing to them…THE FAMILY. Family was their life, everything to them…and if someone tried to hurt Corleone’s family, even for a little nonsense… he would be murdered.
On business they were always together, every decision, every step were decided by all the members. They never wanted to act alone. Don Vito Corleone was “IL CAPO”, the family’s boss. The oldest man, but at the same time the most clever. He loved more than anything his family, and he had been all his life trying to protect them and looking after them, to give them a better life. His sons always helped them in everything because he was all for them. Corleone’s family could be in a bad world of business, but they never forgot the love that they had to their family. Good friends were also protected by them. They could kill anyone, and feel nothing…but good friends were irreplaceable.
I recommend this film to everyone because it teaches you a lot, I swear. All right, they were on mafia’s world and perhaps they did things that are absolutely terrible, things that everyone would want to forget. But they had the most wonderful thing on life…LOVE. Their families love, their friends love…they were loved by their mum, their dad, their brothers, their sons, their best friends...and anyone can buy that love with money or with guns. Because THAT’S TRUE LOVE.

REQUIEM FOR A DREAM

This is one of the most shocking films that I have ever seen
because everything on the movie could happen in real life.
“REQUIEM FOR A DREAM” is not only one story, is a composition about different characters’ life. The main topic is the addiction. From drugs to medicines, from the hobby to the necessity. The feeling of cannot live without that bad thing. The movie is so real that it seems that you’re living those experiences, that you’re feeling that.
When the film starts, the main characters are three friends: a couple and a black boy, they’re young. They’re all on drugs, in every kind of drugs.
At the same time they sell drugs, but before the sell they need money to can but them. So, they’re always stealing things from Harry’s mum (the boy of the couple). They usually steal the TV, the most important thing for the woman.
Television is the only friend of this old woman, because she’s alone since her husband died. The woman is addicted to a TV program about feeding and how to lose weight. Her dream is visit some day that program.
At the beginning everything was quite calm. Well, the young characters were on drugs and were drug dealers. But in that moment they hoped to have one day a better life.
At the same time, the old woman, always worried about her son, received a call from that TV program. They wanted her on television!!! She couldn’t believe it, but finally she decided to go to the doctor and ask for help to lose weight. The doctor prescribed her some pills. She had pills in four colours: one for breakfast, one for lunch, one for dinner and one at night. Pink, blue, green and yellow pills. They would help her to look as thin as when she was thirty or forty years old. The motivation of this was her obsession to wear a little red dress that she dressed a lot of years ago, but now, she couldn’t wear it in any way.
Things are not so easy, and everything is getting more and more complicated.
The young boys lost a lot of money and they were mad to get more drugs. The lack of drugs made them do terrible things: the couple was always having argument, so Harry decided to go away with his friend to get drugs and change their life with the money that they hoped to earn. Harry had a terrible and infected injury in his arm, but he continued giving himself injections of heroin. The injury was dark red and black, and it was very painful for him. His girlfriend, desperate, tried to escape from drugs but she couldn’t. She lost herself in the world of prostitution.
Harry’s mum was losing a lot of pounds with her pills, but her body never was enough good to her. So, she started to take two or three pills every time. At the beginning everything was alright, but on few days she started to imagine things, to hear strange noises from her fridge and to see how her TV and her furniture moved to hurt her.
She was going crazy, and the blame of that was hr obsession for the weight.
She couldn’t get herself control anymore; a terrible illness was destroying her mind: she was a schizophrenic. She was always obsessed with television and one day she went out to the street dirty and ill, and she went to her doctor thinking that the hospital was a TV show. When the doctors saw her, they decided to close the old woman in a psychiatric hospital.
The only hope of the film were the young boys, but even then had a bad ending.
Harry’s injury was hurting him very much and it looked terrible. His friend got him to hospital even knowing that then they could be on jail. And that was what it happened: the police arrested them to jail. The friend had to spend his life there, but Harry couldn’t put up with the pain of his injury. Doctors saw it and took another look at his arm. They couldn’t believe how the boy could resist it because it was really painful and disgusting. They finally had to cut him the arm…

“REQUIEM FOR A DREAM” talks about the dreams of the people, about their hopes…everyone needs to believe that we will have a good life, that our hopes won’t be only this, that our dreams one day will become true. But we had a lot of worries and complications, sometimes it seems that we only have one way to choose, sometimes our addictions are stronger than us…and it’s true, some people can change their ending, but not everyone is so lucky…
